Qualifications:
Undergraduate Majors: Industrial engineering, other engineering, economics, computer science, mathematics, statistics, Others considered as long as the student has taken, calculus, linear algebra and statistical course(s).

Research Area:

All projects are fairly flexible in their scope but would rely on tools from subjects of causal inference modeling, implementation science, queueing networks, discrete event simulation, and optimization. All projects would range from working with professionals to evaluate their program services using causal inference and implementation science to developing effective policies through queueing theory, simulation and optimization.

Two potential projects areas are:
• Crisis response planning: project developing best practices mental and behavioral health emergencies. The student would also lead the creation of a crisis response planning tool that will help jurisdictions plan their resource allocation and response policies.
• Mental health disaster response: project developing guidelines and evaluating programs that address gaps in mental health services for disaster and emergency scenarios.
